Dr. Ana’s Morning ‘Green Juice’GF, DF, P, V

It can be really hard to eat a good amount of leafy greens every day. Especially in the colder months, eating raw veggies and salads isn’t always what we’re craving. I love to start my mornings off right by getting my boost of energizing greens straightaway! You’ll feel amazing! Using a high powered blender (such as a Vitamix or a Ninja) makes a huge difference here – it will be the difference between eating and drinking your juice 🙂 Take note;adding berries to this is a great option, but it will make ‘brown juice’ …with hidden greens 😉

2 cups spinach
2 cups kale*
¼ of a whole lemon, peel included (seeds removed)
2 cups papaya flesh**
2 cups orange juice (not from concentrate)
filtered water
(a handful of chopped parsley) – optional

*Lately I have been on a bitters kick – instead of straight kale, I’ve been adding an organic kale/arugula mix that has added an entirely new flavour to the mix – way to get those digestive juices flowing!
**Papaya is an amazing fruit to add to smoothies. It’s high in Vitamin A and C as well as a significant source of fibre, folate and potassium.

Add all ingredients to a blender and fill the rest of the space with filtered water. Blend until smooth. Makes an entire blender-full…take with you for the rest of the day or share with a loved one.
